1. Lighting Installation Requirements
-
General Requirements
Large factory spaces typically use commercial lighting, with common fixtures like high bay lights. Special areas may have different requirements:
(1) Hazardous Areas: When the light fixture is less than 12 feet above the ground, fixtures with a rated power not exceeding 100w should be used, or protective measures like PC reflectors should be installed.
(2) Frequent On/Off Switch Areas: Use reliable, high-quality lights that won’t be affected by frequent switching.
(3) Low Light Intensity & Short Duration: Lights with motion sensors should be used in areas with low light intensity and short lighting time.
(4) Localized and Temporary Lighting: Temporary work lights are needed in these areas.
(5) Color-Sensitive Areas: For places like chemical laboratories or spectrometry labs, high CRI fluorescent lamps should be used. -
Installation Location
Lighting should be installed according to practical needs, ensuring an even distribution of light. Depending on the space, appropriate mounting locations include ceilings, walls, or floors. -
Metal Halide Lamp Installation Requirements
Fixtures should be installed at a height greater than 5 meters from the ground, with wiring that connects securely and does not touch the lamp surface.
2. Factory Lighting Brightness Standards
Factory lighting brightness standards are based on the type of work:
- High-Precision Work, Design, Drafting, and Precision Inspection: 3000-1500 Lux
- Design Rooms, Analysis Rooms, Assembly Lines, and Coating Areas: 1500-750 Lux
- Packaging, Measurement, Surface Treatment, and Warehouses: 750-300 Lux
3. Clothing Factory Lighting Requirements
-
Lighting and Visibility
In a clothing factory, lighting must ensure that employees can clearly see the garments being worked on, avoiding backlighting or shadows that may obstruct vision. Proper light placement is key to this. -
Uniformity of Lighting Intensity
The lighting uniformity of the work area should be no less than 0.7, and the surrounding areas should not be less than 0.5. -
Mixed Lighting Design
For larger areas or places with high visual demands, mixed lighting (combination of ceiling lights, wall lights, and floodlights) should be used. -
Precision Work Lighting
- Precision Areas: 3000-1500 Lux
- Regular Packaging & Warehouse Areas: 750-300 Lux
- Dyeing, Casting, and Electrical Rooms: 300-150 Lux
-
Hanging Height of Fixtures
The suspension height of lights in factories is usually no less than 5 meters to avoid glare and ensure adequate lighting.
