Choosing the Best LED High Bay Lights for Your Workshop

Hello! We’ve just completed the electrical installation in the workshop and finally got the led high bay lighting set up. In this article, you'll learn why we chose these high bay led shop lights and why we believe they are the best option for your workshop.

Why Choose LED High Bay Lights

The lighting is ample, and I'm very pleased with the led high bay lights we selected. After extensive research, you'll find that traditional tube lights no longer meet the needs. With the advancement of modern LED technology, you can now get twice the brightness in a smaller fixture. The specifications for these high bay led shop lights are provided below for you to reference and choose the ones that best suit your needs.

Light Specifications and Setup

We installed six led high bay lights, each with a brightness of up to 21,000 lumens. For comparison, a typical 100-watt light bulb is only about 1,000 lumens. These led lights come in two color options: 4000K and 5000K. We chose 4000K, which is still a very bright white light but slightly warmer than the ultra-white 5000K, making it more eye-friendly.

These lights are available in various power options: 100W, 150W, 200W, and 240W, 300W, depending on the height at which you install them. We installed the high bay led shop lights at about 13 ft high and 20 ft by 20 ft, so we opted for the 150W version, giving us a total of 22,500 lumens in the workshop. You’ll find the lighting to be more than sufficient!

Installation Process

Installing these lights was straightforward. You can either wire them directly or use the included plug to connect them to a power outlet. The installation process is very simple; just hang the lights from a ring or chain. Each light is about 11 inches in diameter, and if you want more focused led high bay lighting above the fixtures, you can opt to install reflectors.

Lighting Reveal

Now, let’s take a look at the final effect—let there be light! While the camera may not fully capture the brightness of these led high bay lights, believe me, it’s extremely bright here. We’ve set up these lights to be switchable in three groups, allowing you to adjust the brightness as needed, whether you require dimmer lighting or the full 126,000 lumens while working.

Lighting Case Study in Other Parts of the Workshop

In other areas of the workshop, different types of lights were used to meet diverse lighting needs. In the main area, where a large amount of wood for upcoming workbench construction is stored, industrial-style ceiling lights were chosen. Each light is equipped with a 150W LED bulb, providing ample light to ensure safety while working.

In the design of the side room, the same industrial-style ceiling lights were used to maintain consistency in the overall style. Additionally, a decorative pendant light was installed above the bar area that’s under construction, adding some ambiance and character to this space. To enhance the aesthetic and functional quality of the side room, WPC wall panels were used, offering both durability and a modern, sleek look that complements the lighting design.

In a word, if you’re in the process of choosing led high bay lights for your workshop or garage, these high bay led shop lights come highly recommended. They outperform traditional tube LED lights, fluorescent lights, or halogen lights. I hope this information helps you find the most suitable lights.
